A Systematic and Scientific Approach to Training

At Hooked on Running, we specialise in running training and coaching. We know about running. It’s what we like, it’s what we’re good at, and it’s what we’ve spent more than twelve years in business doing. We train beginners to advanced runners and help you develop a systematic and scientific approach to your training. We’ll make sure you train smart so that you can get the most out of your valuable training time. Unless you have a systematic approach to training, you’ll be treading water, never getting much faster, fitter, or getting the results you want.

We want women to regain their sense of self by setting and achieving physical goals. No goal too small, no goal too big! We make running easy for beginners. We make sessions challenging for advanced runners.

Interval Training Groups

Most people see interval training as the hard part of training. And it is. It’s the side of training where you need to push yourself to just the right level to get the desired results. Our interval training group members are inspired and motivated by the group environment, and there’s a real sense of community and camaraderie within the groups. If you’d like to be part of our interval training groups, register for a free trial or find out a bit more about what we do.

Learn to Run

If you’re just starting out as a runner, or just thinking about starting out as a runner, our Learn to Run program has been designed with you in mind. This really is a beginners’ course. When we first started our personal training business in 2002, we realised that many people weren’t able to run for more than a minute without stopping. We knew we had to do something about that on a wider scale than we were able to cater for with our personal training sessions, so our Learn to Run course was born. Our first Learn to Run group graduated in 2007, and we’ve loved running our women’s running groups in Sydney ever since. Some of our original Learn to Run graduates have gone on to run half marathons, and are still training with us. Find out more about Learn to Run.

Learn to Run is also anyone, who for whatever reason, has become a “lapsed runner”. You might be coming back from a longish layoff from injury, illness, pregnancy, or just taking a break because you needed it.

Online Coaching

Whatever type of runner you are, you will reap the benefits of a customised training plan. Online coaching is a simple and effective way get the most out of your training time. You don’t have to wonder how far, how fast, or how frequently, as you follow a plan specifically targeted at what YOU need to do to improve your running and reduce your risk of injury. You get the right advice from expert coaches, who know your running background. Your coach reviews your training regularly using our very simple online training log. Your training plan can be adjusted along the way, according to how your body is responding to training. Find out more about online coaching.

"I have loved the Learn to Run course and I can honestly say I have got a lot out of it. I've never done interval training or even paced myself so those 2 things alone have been a good take out. I'm finding I finish each session and still have energy, some days I feel like I could keep running - considering this time last year I couldn't make it to my letterbox and back in immense pain I am so excited."
