How to help your coach!
So that we can provide the best possible outcome for you, we need you to do a few things for us.
Firstly, and fairly obviously, we need you to be consistent with your training, and complete your prescribed training! Of course there will be days you can’t do that, for one reason or another, but the more consistent you are, the better results you will get.
Secondly, we need to record your training, including making comments about your training and how you felt. The beauty of having your own coach, rather than following a generic training program, is that your coach can adjust your program along the way, according to how you’re responding to the training set. So we need to know how you’re going.
Thirdly, record your daily vitals, well… DAILY. Your daily vitals are simple metrics such as your resting heart rate, sleep amount and quality, weight and stress levels. It really is vital for us to keep track of these metrics. It’s the best way we can be sure your body is coping with the prescribed training.
The key to a successful relationship is communication between coach and athlete, so please, let us know what’s going on with you. We all want this training partnership to be successful.
These videos run through all you need to get started with your training. It’s worthwhile putting aside 15 minutes now to set yourself up properly. If you have any questions about using the training log, please email me personally: email@example.com
